CATHERINE SWANN

Catherine completed her teacher training in Scotland in 2008 before moving to Paris where she currently teaches English, Study Skills and EFL at Ecole Jeannine Manuel and The Turner Learning Centre. Alongside teaching, Catherine is also involved in curriculum design and developing writing skills. In 2018, she completed a Writing and Thinking course at Bard College, USA and is now doing a Masters in Education management with The University of Bath where her interests include: international education, wellbeing, and the use of technology in the classroom.

Catherine is passionate about student-led learning and promoting critical thinking skills. She is a member of the differentiation team and leads workshops on this for her colleagues. She also supports colleagues through a mentor initiative, encouraging them to promote critical thinking and meta-cognition in their classes. Outside of the classroom, she helps students develop public speaking skills through running a debate club and organising the French Poetry by Heart competition.
